Business Owner Policy (BOP) – A business owner policy bundles basic small business insurance coverage into one package. A BOP typically includes property, business interruption, vehicle, liability, and flood insurance, but other components may be added depending on the risks of the business.

Commercial Package – A commercial package policy, or CPP, is a customized insurance package consisting of two or more coverage types. While a BOP policy contains standard coverage such as property and liability insurance, a CPP policy includes only coverage selected by the policy holder.

Commercial Property – To protect commercial property owners from perils such as theft, fire, and natural disasters, a small business owner takes out a commercial property insurance policy. Commercial property insurance covers the cost to repair or replace commercial property damaged due to these events.

Commercial General Liability – Commercial general liability insurance typically covers four main areas: bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, and advertising injury. The cost to settle or defend claims is also covered under commercial general liability insurance.

Workers Compensation – On behalf of an insured employer, workers compensation insurance pays benefits to employees (or their families) in the case of disability, injury, or death resulting during their course of employment.

Commercial Auto – Another type of small business insurance, a commercial auto insurance policy is designed to protect a business in the event of an accident, injury, theft, or other damage involving the use of business vehicles or employees while driving an insured business vehicle. This policy can include coverage for employee owned or rented vehicles used for business purposes.

Professional Liability – A common type of small business insurance, professional liability insurance protects professional practitioners such as physicians, lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, home inspectors and others against negligence claims made by clients or patients.

Directors and Officers Liability – Directors and Officers liability insurance, or D & O, provides financial protection to the Directors and Officers of a business in the event that they are sued by a third party (employees, shareholders, auditors, suppliers, vendors, customers, etc.) in conjunction with performing their duties for the business.

Commercial Flood – Commercial flood insurance provides small business insurance coverage for buildings and its content against damage done by rising or overflow of bodies of water.

Commercial Umbrella – As a supplement to your existing commercial auto and general liability policies, commercial umbrella insurance covers certain catastrophic liability claims and business liability risks. When losses exceed the liability limits of the aforementioned policies, commercial umbrella insurance may cover the remainder, up to a stated limit.

Commercial Crime – Commercial crime insurance policies protect small business owners from losses resulting from business-related criminal activities. This type of small business insurance protection covers money, merchandise, and other property loss as a result of embezzlement, robbery, theft, forgery, or other business-related crime as stated in the policy.

Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) – EPLI insurance provides protection to a company, including its Directors and Officers, against wrongful employment practices acts, such as discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and other employment-related allegations.
